In 2005 the Enchantment underwent an extensive renovation − and the effects are dazzling. The transformation resulted in 151 new staterooms, fresh décor for existing spaces, expansion of many others, the addition of 50 percent more pool area and one more stunner, Bungee Trampolines!
As if rock climbing wasn’t enough, we have the very first trampolines ever installed on a cruise ship, so, unless you’ve been on this ship before, there’s no way you’ve ever done anything like this. Remember how much fun it was on that little one in the neighbor’s back yard, now imagine the rush you’ll feel when you launch yourself skyward from deck 10! If you get up enough momentum, you could find yourself doing somersaults at sea.
With so much more pool area, your entertainment options seem to have quadrupled! The additional deck space holds more than a few surprises, the first of which lies in its very design. Shaped into two half-moons, the deck itself curves outward beyond the ship’s normal edges with clear floor panels offering glimpses to the ocean waters below. Above, two suspension bridges are perched atop arches on either side of the pool deck – perfect for a bird’s eye view of what’s going on 100 ft. below or far across the horizon. There are pools for swimming and one dedicated to sports. Then there’s the splash fountain with 64 water jets controlled by a kid friendly touch-pad system that they just won’t be able to resist. Oh, and the four exquisitely warm, relaxing whirlpools. Ahh, you can almost feel that bubbly water, can’t you?
The renovation also made possible the specialty coffees and global-flavors of ice cream you will find in Latte’tudes; the Latin rhythms and specialty spirits in the new Boleros nightclub; the soothing atmosphere of the Schooner Bar; and full-on nightly disco experience in the glass-walled Viking Crown Lounge. Additional seating in the My Fair Lady Dining Room and a steakhouse with mouth-watering entrees and hearty desserts have been added to enhance the already fabulous dining options.
Not even the Casino Royale, fitness center or shopping areas went untouched during the transformation. The casino now lets you choose between testing your poker and blackjack talents against a computer generated “virtual” dealer and sticking with a traditional live dealer. The fitness center’s outdoor jogging track includes four fitness stops and the ship has its own virtual shopping mall with a Fossil® watch store, fine jeweler, photo electronics retail shop and more.
